SR2.0: The Specialist for Thermal Conversion of Biomass “Waste” into Valuable Products

SR2.0 combines the knowledge and longtime experience of its founders - as progenitors of new technologies in the field of thermal conversion technologies, like pyrolysis, torrefaction, carbonisation, gasification and combustion, and even hydrothermal conversion. These technologies have been developed in the past 25 years by the SR2.0 staff and/or its partners, build in units which are small enough to be affordable but big enough to be representative for the functioning of the technology. Those units are still used today as demonstration and test location for new applications or used to train the operators from our clients or also solve operational problems encountered with our clients.

Green Carbon

In the past few years social awareness together with the concept of Circular Economy has received growing attention in the world, both with the common people as well with policy makers. Some practitioners present it as a novelty, but we have to acknowledge that it builds on the legacy of predecessors, like energy savers, waste recycling and separation, industrial ecology, eco-industrial parks and industrial symbiosis.

Upon clients demands for cost reduction on the disposal of waste and/or independency of expensive - usually imported - energy carriers, SR2.0 will help you in earning money by converting waste into a high quality carbon, which can be used in many different applications ranging from:

  • agricultural as biochar,

  • pharmaceutical for livestock farmers to reduce methane emissions of cattle,

  • chemical as biocarbon composites,

  • industrial as additives in building materials and asphalt to make these products both more sustainable and to obtain carbon credits as a result of the long term capture of carbon, or as adsorption means for bad emissions of industrial processes, and/or

  • energy to replace the fossil energy carriers mainly by locally available organic sources.
